Ex-HALLOWS EVE Singer Makes Peace With Former Bandmates, Launches New Project

May 20, 2004

Steve Cannon, editor-in-chief of the world's oldest and longest running Internet-based music magazine Vibrations of Doom, has issued another statement regarding his departure from reunited thrashers HALLOWS EVE. The statement reads as follows:

"The words you read about my split from HALLOWS EVE did indeed happen behind my back. No phone calls were returned and no one really said much. Until tonight... This is the last set of words I will say about the split from HALLOWS EVE and then the matter will be closed...

"FOR NOW...

"That's right, I decided to get in my car and head down to the rehearsal space where everyone, save for Dwayne, was. And we all cleared the air. I voiced very clearly that while I respected everyone's musical abilities and dedication, I thought they were lousy to not include me in the discussions about my departure. Had it been made clear that mistakes I made would have lead to my ousting, I guarantee things would have been different.

"But that is all in the past now, as we have all reconciled our differences. And after some soul searching, we all agreed that our visions of HALLOWS EVE may not be the same. Also, until I get my life straightened out, HALLOWS EVE cannot become the priority that it SHOULD be. Once my head cleared and my emotions were spent we all talked for about 2 hours on what the future holds.

"HALLOWS EVE is probably doing the Keep It True Festival in Germany in November. There may be a place at the table for me in HALLOWS EVE in the future, no one has ruled that possibility out. However, I cannot return to the band until I first clear my situations up and we resolve our differences. I found out today that the decision to replace me was very difficult for them, apparently they all still respect what I have achieved and what I tried to do, and there are, PLEASE let me repeat this, NO HARD FEELINGS. Three members of the band will handle vocals. For now, whether this is the right thing or not, this is how it's going to be. It IS nice to clear the air, and I have another bit of good news: My biggest supporter, who is obviously my fiancee, and I have agreed that there IS a new band in the works. It is my pleasure to announce to the world that BROKEN TRINITY is born!

"It is going to be a cross between stoner rock and doom metal, wherein April will be playing violins and possibly doing female vocals. I have a few cousins in the business already who I about to approach to play guitars and drums. Chris Miller MAY join in on bass, that remains to be seen. Jeffrey Hinely (LAND OF SOULS) from Savannah may be called upon to help out with guitar duties, as he is already established and is one of my closest relatives. Granted, this gathering of musicians is still a LONG time away, but needless to say I am going on with this main project of mine, until everyone has a chance to figure out where we are in our lives.

"I wish HALLOWS EVE well, and handshakes and hugs were running all around. It was the right thing to do under the circumstances, and every member of the band (save for Dwayne) knows EXACTLY how hurt and betrayed I felt at the way things were handed down. BUT, we will hopefully retain a friendship, especially with guitarist Skellator, who was the first one I approached about the reformation. And of course the music magazine Vibrations of Doom will continue to be the world's oldest and longest running music magazine on the planet. Thanks to all those who supported and helped me, and thanks too to even the harshest of critics, whose voice I took to heart."
